Antique Sickle/Scythe - Primitive Farm Tool

Sorry, this item has sold.

Antique Sickle/Scythe - hand forged and made by the reknowned Village Blacksmith Company and dates to early 1900s. Originally used to cut hay, wheat or tall grasses - it is a unique piece. The tine goes three quarters of the way through the wood handle and is held there with three original rivets. The blade is rusty and the wood handle is worn but with no cracks, gouges or rough edges – it appears to have been well used. The words "Patented - Village Blacksmith" are embossed in the blade. There is a small wobble between the tine and the wood of the handle.

Great wall décor or as an addition to an antique or vintage tool collection

The sickle measures approximately 17 inches at the widest point from bottom of handle to edge of blade.
